Pumpkin Cheesecake Balls

I made the (great) mistake of starting Stranger Things this weekend. As far as things to watch during Halloweekend, I think I picked well, but as far as a full weekend of baking adventures, I only ended up with time for one.

White Chocolate Macadamia Cookies

I really like cookbooks from famous bakeries. They always use some new technique or ratio that I never see in recipes online, and they unashamedly own their copious useĀ butter. There’s also something nice about having a physical cookbook – crumbs get stuck in the pages, well-loved recipes open easily, you can flip through the pictures until something jumps out – you don’t get any of that online.

Cookie Dough Bites

Friday night was a baking marathon. After a week of birthdays and J-term festivities, I really needed a night where I didn’t have to leave my apartment. Lucky for me, I have friends that felt the same, and were willing to trek to my apartment for a quieter night in.

Almond Joy Truffles

It’s sunny! And warm! And not snowy! All of these things are beyond exciting after the winter we had, and even hold true up in Massachusetts, where I just spent a wonderful week at home. I made the most of my time with my bake center, and squeezed in another little project last night while watching the Bruins thoroughly confirm that they had no place in the playoffs this year.

Cake Batter Fudge

I am really getting sick of winter. And I know I’m not the only one. I mean, when the weatherman describes the forecast for the day as “not as brutal”, you know it’s been a rough couple of months. Also, it’s not even good winter weather. If it’s going to be a snow day, for example, I better wake up to a beautiful white sparkly blanket covering the ground. Then I could at least go snowshoeing. This year, snow days have actually been nasty rain/ice/sleet/hail/snow days, which make even going to get a cup of coffee at Dunkin a pain.

White Chocolate Peppermint Cookies

Today is my last blog post of 2014, and what a year it has been. There have been a lot of changes, both good and bad, and, honestly, I’m kind of ready to leave it behind. A new year always holds such promise for fresh starts and trying new things, and I could use that right about now.
